Maximizing storage space

For the past few years I’ve mainly focused on chasing the holy grail items in the GD world. These items were the big ticket items that I’ve always wanted and now that I’ve found most of the major puzzle pieces, it’s now time to focus back on the smaller details again.

I recently picked up a genuine Subaru armrest extension. This has been a low hanging fruit item for me but when opportunity appears, I had to pick it up! Since the STI is still waiting on the engine swap, I haven’t been able to drive the car to see how shifting is and if the extension gets in the way or not.

Update: I took the armrest extension off. It gets in the way of shifting into 2/4/6 and I don’t think I could get used to it. The point of this car is to enjoy it in the canyons and having a shifting issue while having a spirited drive seems awful and not worth risking blowing up the engine or transmission.

Did I have a need for more storage space? Admittedly, no I didn’t need more space nor do I keep the STI filled with random junk in the compartments. This was more of a IYKYK type of purchase and on my quest to have the rarest Subaru parts, this was a must buy item for discontinued parts from Subaru!
