You probably haven’t noticed that I’ve been off social media for a couple weeks by now and that’s fine. To the ones that did reach out to see if I’m fine, thank you!
I decided to take a break from all social media. Deactivating Facebook was nice because it prevented me from searching the depth of marketplace and buying more car parts which is a good thing I suppose. Deleting the Instagram app was just as easy but I do miss out on a lot of things. Mainly miss out on the social aspect of it. Sending memes, talking cars, and shit talking with the homies.
Mainly stepped away due to not having as much joy in cars lately. Last year sucked the soul out of me when it came to cars. The M3 has been a huge money pit fixing a lot of the issues that are commonly found on the E9X chassis while the final death blow was finding out the STI needed a new engine due to oil pissing out everywhere.

I’m still patiently waiting for the engine to be swapped in and I can’t wait to rip on the car again. But due to the wait time of getting the new shortblock installed, I haven’t driven the STI at all due to fear of actually blowing the current engine up and sending metal everywhere. Right now, the current engine bits and pieces are salvageable and that’s what matters more.
Maybe that’s why I’m not having any joy in it right now… I’ve driven the STI once since early December and it’s now late February to put it in perspective. My photo album used to be filled with photos of the STI but I had to scroll up a bit just to find the latest photo of the STI to use as the cover photo for this post.
I told myself to only use Instagram to post the latest updates on the cars. So next post/story you see from me will most likely be when the engine gets swapped in.
There’s still a lot of moving parts happening in the background that I haven’t told you guys about and I’m excited to get to it for both the STI and M3. Maybe by then, the joy will be back!
