THE LICENSE PLATE ERAS TOUR

Most of my license plates have been IYKYK type of plates. DUMAHH is quite possibly the most offensive plate ever but I love it! Google it and you’ll have a good laugh if you understand Vietnamese!

The way I see the progress of the STI build and through my personal growth has always been through the different license plate eras. Looking back at the different eras has been a nice check-in point with my life to see what it was and what it is now.

The ATKTIME era was about growth and changes. This was me analyzing everything and making the necessary changes to the STI and my life. I was slowly changing things that the previous owner had done, and the same with my personal life. There was a lot of changes back then that had to be done to lay the framework for what’s to come.

The NUCMAM era was testing out things that I liked and didn’t like. Swapping out wheels and parts constantly and honing in on what I liked and ultimately what I wanted in my life. This again was me making changes in my life for the better. I started to concentrate on things that made me a lot happier.

The DUMAHH era represents what I’d like to call the chef’s kiss. I had chased the finest ingredients and wanted to cook what OEM PLUS meant to me and how I felt about the culture. To me, I had cooked perfection. In terms of my personal life, this was me telling myself you deserve the fruits of your labor. The finer things in life are earned and you now get to enjoy everything you worked hard for.

With “perfection” though, there is always tweaking of the recipe. Either better ingredients or changing the process to achieve perfection. In Japanese, there is a phrase called kodawari (こだわり), which means the pursuit of perfection. I am chasing that attention to detail and I have to remind myself that the passion is what keeps me going on the longest project of my life.

The pursuit of perfection’s goalpost will always be moving but I’m trying my best to get there and will stay committed to making this STI better and better each step of the way. I can’t wait to show you guys what I’ve been cooking the past few months!!!

I’ll see what the next era license plate will be but for the time being, DUMAHH is staying on the car a little bit more… Maybe I’ll bring back one of the OG plates!!
