After collecting almost all the parts I want on my “A-list”, I finally decided to chase some parts on the “B-list”. On top of that list is a set of S204 dampeners! With a little bit of luck and timing, a buddy of mine was selling and I had to jump on those parts!
I first read about these parts years ago and always thought it was a cool piece to have one day with the collaboration between STI and YAMAHA. Was never sure if this was a gimmick or it actually provided some benefits until I went to SEMA in 2024 and visited the HKS booth.
At the booth, they had a metal rod that you would strike with a hammer. Seeing the rod stabilize and absorb the impact sold me on the technology and thus my search for the S204 performance dampers started!
I’ve been lowkey searching for these parts for awhile now and on my recent trip to Asia, I had some downtime and started to do more research and trying to source a set. Luckily I found one sort of local to me and the day after I landed from that trip, I did a small 2hr trip drive up north to pick them up!
These parts won’t be installed until the STI get’s closer to paint and with the latest parts I’ve acquired (more on that in a minute), the dream is getting closer and closer!!!
