On this quest to have a reliable engine, I bought an Air/Oil Separator (AOS) to help with the oil blow-by issues. The purpose of an AOS is to help prevent oil vapors from being introduced back into the intake system.
I went with the Cobb AOS for a couple reasons. Although I don’t like to support a company that screwed a lot of car enthusiasts due to Project Green Speed (more on that in a later blog post…), I do applaud them for going through the application program and getting an AOS CARB legal (Executive Order D-660-45) for us folks who live in California. Another reason why I chose to run an AOS was because of the little to no maintenance needed to run one compared to a catch can system that occasionally needs the oil to be emptied out.

I love how the red on the AOS matches with the rest of the engine bay and having it look OEM and tucked away. I’m going for a simple and subtle look for the engine bay and not wanting to change much besides replacing some items that have been bothering me like the alternator and intercooler. Those will have to be changed at a later date as I am well above my budget for 2025 already.

Eventually I will relocate the battery to the trunk and I am wanting to get the Prova Eifel CF intake scoop sprayed with another layer of clear coat to preserve the signature from Toshihiro Yoshida, President of PROVA! Once that is complete, I’ll be pretty happy with the bay!
