Earlier this year I decided to take a break from social media and indirectly because of that, I took a step away from cars also. My social media presence mainly was curated to be centered around cars and with that step back, it’s been nice to focus on other parts of my life and getting into other hobbies.

The car hobby was getting a bit overwhelming for me. One reason I took a step back was because the forged engine was an unexpected expense and mentally drained me from wanting to do any car activities for awhile. Looking back on this year, I haven’t really gone to any Cars and Coffee events, I skipped Subiefest, and haven’t attended any major car shows either.

I recently went on a drive with the Subaru and it made me realize some things. I’ll always love the car scene but sometimes it’s not the flavor of the day (months tbh). It’s okay to take a break from hobbies that you love. It gives room for you to nurture your other interests and likes. It’s also a little dangerous cause these new hobbies are just as expensive as cars!!!
Don’t get me wrong though, I’ve been busy in the background with chasing the dream with my STi still. I have some posts in the works right now on what I’ve been up to and all the parts I’ve been acquiring. I can’t wait to show you guys what’s next in the CLOSE UP series. Stay tuned for that!
Thank you-
Kurtis
