The build up…

I’m sure by now you guys have all seen what I’ve been cooking the past few weeks of posting. If you haven’t, I built a ZERO/SPORTS kitted STI and did a full glass out respray!

Everyone loves to see the final product but what’s that saying…. the journey is more important than the destination? To get to this point, we’re going to have to go back a few years…

Sourcing a set of ZERO/SPORTS side skirts in 2024 started this wild hunt to piece together a full ZERO/SPORTS kitted car. I was 10 minutes away from boarding my flight home from Portland when I found this set on marketplace. It was one of the craziest purchases for me as this was such a rush to get the money sent to him to secure the deal before we had to take off!

Eventually it came time to finding the front and rear bumpers. I’ve been lowkey looking for a while now but finding a set in good condition is a needle in a haystack. At this point, these kits have got to be over 15+ years old by now?

It was about the end of 2025 when I finally secured an authentic set of front and rear bumpers!! Finding a set and actually have the sellers come through was an absolute nightmare. This was the SECOND set I tried to buy but that will be a story for another day…

This has literally been almost a 2+ year chase to see the finish line and I still can’t believe I got this all pieced together!!! I had also sourced ZERO/SPORTS side skirt badges, the cursive badge, and the CF gauge pod to really tie in the ZERO/SPORT themed build!

It’s pretty cool to see a ZERO/SPORTS STI immortalized in print and was definitely something I referenced a lot when doing this build!!! There’s something about wanting to be on that front page of the magazine that most of the younger generation doesn’t understand. It’s always been a goal of mine to get printed but that’s all hope and dreams at this point.
