Took a couple weeks to mentally step away from all things related to cars but wanted to get this post out of the way while it’s still fresh in my mind. With the latest blog post that I did with finding the ZERO/SPORTS kit, it was FINALLY time to get the car to paint.
For 8 years now I’ve slowly filled up my storage with all the kits, trunks, wings, and spare parts that were needed for the full respray. Essentially, I painted this car 3x with the amount of body panels and kits I got painted. Every single rubber piece and trim was either replaced with new or refreshed if possible.
I will let the photos do most of the talking from here on out…!

Painting the car SWP requires 3 coats of paint and clear! The biggest thing for me is I wanted the white to match as close as possible and that is why I needed everything to be painted all at once.

It was a crazy moment for me to see this finally all together after so long. The Do Luck trunk and Voltex wing have been sitting in storage for close to 4+ years at this point. And to top that all off, when was the last time you saw a 100% AUTHENTIC ZERO/SPORTS Hawkeye?!
This definitely checked off the box on my high school DREAM build. Not a lot of people ever get to say they have their dream car but who else can say they built the car to a style they idolized when they were teenagers?!
I will say though, the ZERO/SPORTS kit and the giant Voltex wing is definitely a huge change from the subtle OEM+ style that I love. But a part of me had to chase this dream and I’m glad I did. The cool thing about staying stock bodied is that I can easily swap all these parts over back to stock if I wanted to :D.
Thanks
Kurtis
