The next two parts are a special one to document on today’s entry for CLOSE UP! OEM PLUS COLLECTIVE presents to you a detailed look on the S203 shifter trim and the S204 airbag cover!
We’ll first take a look at the S203 shifter trim. This has the matching numbers S203 shifter trim AND the badge that goes along with it. In this case, it is number 429/555! The trim is a beautiful piece and has a solid weight to the aluminum compared to the replicas out there that are 3D printed.
I have no reason to put the S203 badge in mine as I already have the STI Limited badge. I also think it would be too much going on visually to add the badge part. But the shifter trim, I may put it on. I’m still not sure on this, what do you guys think? Install the shifter trim or leave it off?
Next up on the parts haul is a ultra rare part that I have never seen go up for sale in all my years of collecting. This is a S204 airbag cover! What makes this one special is a tiny detail that majority of the crowd would overlook. It’s the little ring around the STI badge that makes this part special for collectors!
The hunt for the S204 airbag cover is wild. I believe the previous owner had little to no idea of what they actually had and I got this for a total steal in my opinion. Also with the marketplace and how this part has rarely ever gone up for sale, I believe they did not know how to value this part correctly.
The wealth of information with videos/photos are all slowly disappearing with these old parts and I’m doing my best to keep the knowledge alive! If you got a rare part that you want to document, let me know and we can work on a post together!
