Upgrading My STI’s Interior: S204 Airbag Cover & ZERO/SPORTS CF Clock Pod

I’ve been slowly going through my checklist of parts to install and finally got to the interior upgrades I’ve been wanting to do to the STI.

First on the update is a small detail part that most people would not notice at all. The S204 airbag cover is definitely a IYKYK type of part. The only difference between a USDM STI airbag cover and the S204 one is that the S204 cover has a silver edge around the badge. A small detail that most will look over but very cool to have as part of the build! The silver edge also compliments the trim around the gauge cluster which is cool little detail.

Installing the cover was little nerve wrecking whenever you are messing with safety equipment like the airbag. Will need to undo the 2 bolts with a T30 torx bit and then use a flat head to lift the yellow tabs to unplug the two connectors above. Overall a “easy” swap to do but you run the risk of a airbag inflating!

Next up was replacing the ATI clock pod I previously had installed. Although at the time I liked the look of the ATI pod, it always looked off with the way it was missing the factory clock and was way too much plastic for me. And thus the hunt was on for this one part…

I finally sourced a Zero/Sports CF clock pod! This has been a part I’ve chased for a long time and hated that they were skyrocketing in prices. Another reason why I went with the Zsport pod was that I can finally have a clock again!! Leaving the clock unplugged would cause the airbag light to show on the cluster but having it plugged in would leave the actual clock laying around inside the center dash.

The splash of red/pink goes well with the black Limited interior while the green Genome gauges matches the radio and HVAC controls!

I’m pretty happy with how the interior has turned out. Not much else I want to change to it besides eventually dyeing the interior black or swapping it out for Suede eventually!
